This charming, hilltop location in the Akron Ohio area has been a Portage Lakes landmark for more than 50 years. A gracious porch wraps around the building to provide a warm welcome to all our guests. Several building additions later, Merrilee and Jimmy Anthe continued the family tradition in the same warm style until May, 2007.

Today, Anthe’ the lakes strives to provide the same fine service and good food that customers have come to expect from the Akron restaurant. Our current menu features fresh, seasonal food, served by a friendly staff, with prompt and courteous service. Executive Chef David Uecke, and Food and Beverage Manager Colleen Geis are committed to ensuring one of the best dining experiences in the Akron area. They both have professional chef educations, and experience in some of the best restaurants in Charleston, South Carolina. David and Colleen are anxious to share their love of food and wine with both returning and new Anthe’ the lakes clientele.

Anthe’s has a space to accommodate all your dining desires, from a casual dinner to that special occasion in your life. An extensive interior remodeling project has updated the dining rooms, banquet rooms, and lounge areas. Our main dining room has a mix of booth and table seating for parties up to 12 people. The upper dining room features booth seating for parties of 2-4 and our new banquette seats parties up to 16 people.

A new, intimate wine room off the lounge offers a cozy intimate place to enjoy a selection from our wine list. Live entertainment is featured Wednesday through Saturday. Check the Special Events page for the current entertainment schedule.
